Self Catering

In reaction to regular enquiries for self catering we have converted three of our existing accommodation units. We now have three double chalets (sleep 4 each) and our guesthouse (sleeps 8) which are equipped for self catering.

All the facilities, activities, etc. on the reserve are the same.

We offer the peace of a nature reserve. All the housekeeping rules, etc. are applicable and are indicated further on.

Reservation Policy

All reservations are fully paid in advance after which the booking is confirmed.
50% Deposits are accepted when the booking is made more than three months in advance.
Cancellations more than 7 days prior to arrival date are refunded at 90%.

Reserve rules

  • Upon arrival you book in at the lodge where you collect your keys and necessary info. A key deposit of R250 is payable – bring cash with.
  • The basic rule is to respect other guests stay. The visit is an escape to nature, away from the city noise. So no loud noise is allowed. Sounds travel far in the open Karoo!
  • You can park at your accommodation.
  • No drones allowed.
  • Only persons booked are allowed – NO additional guests
  • No pets – sorry.
  • No washing, etc. on stoep area
  • No littering of plastic, glass, paper, etc. If your rubbish bin gets full, just advise us.
  • No motorcycle drives on the reserve.
  • No quad bikes.
  • No fires– only weber at chalet & braai spot at guesthouse, plus fireplaces.
  • Use water and electricity sensibly.
  • NB – Extra wood or briquettes for the Weber can be bought at the lodge.
  • Cleaning staff will visit your unit/chalet daily.
